Pay attention to sizing.
Wow, what a comfortable shoe. I ordered these at the suggestion of coworker. I wear a 9 shoe, so went up a bit and originally order a 43. Ugh. Too tight, and my high arches hurt.
My fault, because I didn't heed the advise -- when ordering, go big. I called Zappos and exchanged for a size 45. They upgraded the shipping provided free shipping for the return. And what a difference two sizes make. I am up and down stairs all day and in the office environment I stand sometimes for hours at a time making presentations. These shoes make the end of the day easy - no tired feet, no tired back and the loose fit really works for a nice casual shoe. I like the European look. I am a guy and these shoes d not look feminine - just unique. And at the end of the day, no tired feet. Great job Dansko and great Customer Service, Zappos.

Excellent arch support.
I didn't like the style of the shoes before, but I bought these shoes for work. Excellent shoes, to people who have to work for 8-10 hours daily. Also, the service from Zappos is excellent too.

Practical shoes - I wear Danskos for work (I am a nurse practitioner). I find they are the best for my back. The only complaint I have is that the top of the shoe is too tight. Also, I am a size 8 and must buy size 9 (39) for proper fit.

These are great comfortable shoes, especially for a nurse. I ordered them and they came in about four days! I would order a half size larger than your regular size. They are a bit tight at first, but stretch to a perfect fit after about 3 wears. Love them.

Wow! Now I'm a believer! I'm a huge Keen and Chaco fan and I have a high arch that collapses when I walk so if I don't have good arch support, my knees hurt after a day of walking. I've always been around clogs since my sister is a huge fan and my dad is Danish...but I always thought the hard sole would be awful. Well, after buying these shoes and out of the box wearing them all day at work, I feel great. They provide amazing stability and you can walk a little bit like you can in an MBT. The leather looks great/high quality, but I was a little disappointed with the shiny sole. Maybe the cabrio or pull-up have a better sole. I am a typical 8 and the 39 is perfect for my long middle toe.

I paid for 5 pairs of shoes to try and find a pair that could get me through the day on my feet. I should have bought these from the beginning - no break-in time needed. I love them and will buy Dansko and Born anytime.

Great shoe if you're on your feet all day! These shoes have great arch support and have really helped my feet since I'm on them all day. The only thing I wish is that they sold this shoe in a wider style.

Everyone raved about them. I wasn't so sure, especially after I saw the price. I broke down and bought them. I wish I hadn't waited so long to finally place my order!! They are wonderful...comfortable.... supportive....Two more girls in my Department bought them and love them too!! I selected the 4-5 standard business day shipping and Zappos upgraded me to 2 day shipping free of charge!! I'm a very satisfied customer!! I wish they had other colors to choose from.

Dansko professional looks great on the floor, and keeps my feet from hurting after a 12 hour shift. Very good arch support. I think they are great. Zappos also has a great price.

Really having a problem with these shoes!!! I am on my feet for 12 hours a day and these shoes were recommended to me by a DPM. I HATE these shoes! I've had them since Sept '07 and to this day they feel like I am walking around with bricks on my feet. (I give them a try again every once in a while.) My feet hurt and heels burn about 2 hours into wearing the shoes. They are manufactured well and they also fit well but I can't get used to the foot pain!

Attractive, but order up!
Very nice and comfortable shoe with jeans or dressier clothes. Order the next size up - they are a little stiffer/tighter than the oil finish.

My first comfy shoe -
This is my second pair of Danskos. My first pair, the Giselle mary-jane, hurt my feet after standing for 8 hours at work. A fellow pharmacist told me I needed to buy the Danskos with the big wedge heel because it helps the shoe mold to your feet. I gave it a try and bought these despite the clunky appearance, broke them in for a week as recommended by my friend (they hurt for the first week, but no worse than my old shoes), and now I'm in heaven at work! My legs aren't tired and in pain when I get home after standing all day! And Zappos service was fantastic; I got the shoes on my doorstep about 20 hours after I placed my order with upgraded free shipping!

Great work shoe!
I work 12.5 hour shifts in a hospital. I have spent a lot of money buying every "nursing shoe under the sun" and my Danskos are the best purchase I have ever made… LOVE THEM! I do have to say I originally ordered a size 37 (I am a size 7) and the 38 was the better fit. With Zappos’ easy return policy, I had my shoes within 2 days.

I read a lot of the reviews posted on the website before ordering my pair of Dansko’s. I ended up ordering a size bigger then what I normally wear and they fit perfectly! I knew that they are made by hand so every pair is not exactly the same size. I love my Dansko's!

Best shoes ever -
I would very much the Dansko Professional shoes -they are the MOST comfortable shoes I have ever worn- I work in a hospital and people told me over and over again to buy some Danskos but I was unwilling to spend the $$...after 2 yeas of crappy shoes at a lower cost, I broke down and it's the best decision I ever made. I would definitely buy them again. I would also highly recommend Zappos.com- I ordered my shoes online and received them within a 24 hour period. It was very fast. Great purchase.

Professional and comfortable -
These shoes are great for work. I wear them to work standing for 10+ hours per day, and they have helped my plantar fasciitis. They do need to stretch some so the sides don't rub, so I would recommend wearing them with some medium-thickness socks. I wear a 39, and they seem to be true to size. I think they are a tiny bit narrower than they should be, but a few wearings with socks have stretched the leather just enough.

Love this shoe -
It takes a little getting used to because of the heel lifting, as it's supposed to, and the arch support is shaped different, but after I had them on about an hour I forgot these things. The high and wide toe box suits me perfectly, and I also like that the sides don't come up very high and hit my ankle bones, as so many shoes do. I wish they weren't so heavy though, and that the heel could be lower. But overall I really like them, will probably get some brown ones (I got the black).

Not a very pretty shoe. A little on the heavy side too, but very comfortable.
I wear size 9 or 9.5 enclosed shoe so I ordered size 40. I had a hard time getting pair that actually fit, but like most people I have one foot slightly larger than the other. I even ordered size 41 from another on line retailer as Zappos didn't have that size in stock. I realized that 41 was way too big (even for my big foot lol) so to make a long story short, I ordered about 4 or 5 pairs of this shoe until I got the right fit. I tried the oiled professionals but in the end the "plain" professionals worked for me. Even when I made up my mind to keep them I wasn't totally happy with the fit, but after wearing them a few times I'm glad that I kept them. I don't know if they stretched or if they conformed to my feet or what but I know that they feel good, and I never had the problem of breaking them in (no blisters, rubbing, or any type of discomfort). The back slips up and down as you walk (and I think that's how they should fit) but they shouldn't be able to fly off your feet.
Oh, one more thing. Zap pos was abfab (absolutely fabulous) about the returns. I was feeling a little guilty about the number of exchanges but they assured me that it was no problem. Now here's the biggest shocker. I was telling the customer service rep, Reandra that I really wanted these shoes as I am studying to be a surgical tech. Well a few days later I got a card in the mail from her wishing me good luck in my studies!
If you see something you like, try it at and if it just does not work returns/exchanges are a breeze.

Restaurant tested! Customer approved!
I manage a restaurant and work close to 80 hours a week in these shoes. I’m on my feet all day and never have any problems. My feet, back, and legs all feel a thousand times better in these than any other shoe I’ve tried.
I STRONGLY suggest these for anyone looking to find shoes that can be worn with anything (still look professional under dressy clothing), and want a shoe they can be sure will be comfortable (even after a 16 hour day!).
***My only caution, for me they are a little tight over the top of your foot and don’t really stretch out.

Great Comfort - I want more styles -
These shoes are the best. I work in an office requiring professional-casual dress code. I can wear these with slacks. I walk 2-3 miles a day between offices so comfort is top of the list. Thanks Dansko I plan to try some of their other styles.

Leg Saver -
My legs thank me every night! I wore a pair of Clarks Clogs (purchased on Zappos) for 2 years and they were super great, but the sole kept falling off. Clarks did offer to replace the shoes, but discontinued the clogs, so I got a pair of totally different shoes (quick shout out, I had a very positive customer service experience with Clarks). Still, I didn't have a good pair of work shoes and my legs felt it. I ordered the Dansko Professional black box because it was the cheapest. After the initial break in - very comfortable. One minor complaint. The black box looks cheaper than the others. It is made for food service professionals or people who need a quick wipe off. The other professionals (Oiled and Cabrio) have the same quality and comfort, but look more expensive and the leather is more handsome. I wish I paid the extra $. If you work in a kitchen or restaurant, they are super easy to wipe clean.
